POSITION SUMMARYAs a Mechanical Engineer at SkoFlo, you will learn our products from the inside out, absorbing decades of hard-won design knowledge you won't find in any textbook. You will own real designs from the first sketch through testing, production, and field service, and take on more as you prove yourself. This role is built for someone hungry to grow: master what we know, and you will become one of the engineers SkoFlo's future is built on.
WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR THIS ON-SITE POSITION- Design the components, assemblies, and fixtures that make our products work, from clean-sheet R&D concepts to refinements of proven designs already in the field
- Take your designs from first sketch to the test stand, planning and running the testing yourself, and back every decision with FEA and data
- Own the technical risk calls on your designs: bring your ideas to design reviews, challenge assumptions, and help shape the new product roadmap
- Decode demanding customer and hazardous location specifications, including welding, coating, and NDE, and decide how our designs will meet them
- Hunt down the root cause when a product doesn't perform, and lead the fix from NCR to corrective action
- Write the A3 and component papers that turn what you learn into knowledge the next generation of SkoFlo engineers will rely on
- Work hand in hand with the CAD Drafter and Manufacturing Engineer to drive design changes through ECN and into production clean
- Be the engineer Sales and customers call when they need a real answer
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR- You own product lines end to end, and you're the first call when one has a problem
- A design you led has gone from concept through testing and into production, and it's performing in the field
- You make the technical risk calls on your designs, and our Principal Engineer trusts your judgment
- You've led a customer specification review from first read to final compliance, with the customer confident in every answer
- Your component papers have captured knowledge on our core products that used to live only in people's heads
- You've become a certified hazardous location expert, with designs that prove it
WHAT YOU WILL BRING- A drive to master your craft, and the hunger to own more every year
- The humility to learn from those who came before you, and the confidence to challenge them with data
- A love of solving hard mechanical and fluid control problems, hands-on
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience in product design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with high-pressure equipment or another regulated industry is a plus
- Experience planning tests, collecting data, and proving designs with FEA and hard results
- The ability to turn complex findings into clear design reports and papers others rely on
- Proficiency with AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks, preferably in a controlled vault environment, with strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience designing equipment for hazardous locations (ATEX, IECEx, or Class / Division) is a plus
- Clear communication with customers and colleagues
