Job Description:

Power Systems Division is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Mechanical Engineer to support Customer Backed Innovation (CBI) as well as support our existing product line.

Essential Functions:
• Concept creation, design, prototype, mechanical testing, DFMA and ongoing continuous improvement of Power Systems Division products.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, technicians, service and manufacturing personnel to create and implement reliable, innovative and cost effective solutions for our customers.
• Includes resolution of field, manufacturing line and supplier related issues.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required with 3-5 years of work experience preferred.
• Proven track record of innovative design and meeting project time line criteria.
• Proficient in computer design skills including SolidWorks, PDM Professional, SolidWorks Simulation, CF Design, MS Project and Microsoft Office.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Sheet metal, plastics and aluminum casting/extruding design knowledge
• Ability to select, analyze, test materials for design based on durability and cost effectiveness
• Ability to analyze and solve thermal, mechanical, sound attenuation and packaging issues
• Familiarity with a variety of product packaging concepts, practices and procedures
• Vibration attenuation knowledge and the ability to use related analysis equipment
• Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines
• DC and AC motor/generator knowledge
• Hydraulics, pneumatics and HVAC design experience
• Familiarity with regulatory standards CSA, IEC, NEC, EPA, UL, EPA and ETL
• Proven track record of innovation, design, and margin improvements
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks across concurrent projects.
• Ability to think strategically and contribute to the planning and implementation of long-term initiatives
• Must have the desire to seek continued educational opportunities
• Experienced in customer focused innovation with a keen understanding of design criteria differentiation
