Chemours is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer position to join our growing Washington Works team. This position will be in
Parkersburg, WV and report directly to the MIQA Maintenance Manager.
This role serves as a Mechanical Engineer for the Chemours Central Manufacturing Technology Organization assets at the Washington Works plant in Parkersburg, WV. This group delivers services to seven manufacturing divisions across the site. This individual will spend 80% of their time providing project support, change management, troubleshooting and other mechanical guidance to the operating areas. 20% of their time will be spent leading the site MI-QA effort.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:- Provide mechanical engineering support to the manufacturing area operations.
- Provide mechanical engineering expertise for project work to ensure its compliance with specifications, engineering standards and quality assurance.
- Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting and modifying operating equipment and facilities
- Initiate Change of Designs (COD's) to help improve the safety, quality, environmental, and/or cost of the unit
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
- Provide leadership in the area of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) with regards to maintaining standards and making improvements
- Lead PSM criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage MIQA effort, including critical spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans and frequencies, and maintenance procedures.
The following is required for this role:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- 5 years of Engineering experience (can include Co-op experience)
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principles
- Demonstrated skill to diagnose and solve technical problems - making data-based decisions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a "hands on" approach.
The following is preferred for this role:- 2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- MI-QA or PSM experience
- Root Cause Analysis experience

Pay Range (in local currency):
$110,544.00 - $172,725.00
