DescriptionMarkon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support an Intelligence Community customer with facility engineering, maintenance, and construction projects. Working alongside experienced engineers, project managers, trade personnel, and contractors, this role will support the design, coordination, inspection, and execution of mechanical and facility infrastructure projects. This position provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience across HVAC, plumbing, construction, energy management, and multidisciplinary building systems in a mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee engineering reviews and coordination for facility operations, maintenance, repairs, and construction activities.
- Manage and prioritize work with trade shops, including project reviews, inspections, and contractor performance oversight.
- Lead project planning and execution, including design reviews, schedules, budgets, change requests, stakeholder communication, and status reporting.
- Develop technical documentation, cost estimates, and reports, and provide contracting support to the CO/COTR throughout acquisition and construction.
- Coordinate integration of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, IT, and security, while ensuring project objectives meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Provide after-hours engineering support for emergencies and prepare required project closeout documentation, including Contractor Performance Reports.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI FSP required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, facility engineering, construction, design, or other relevant experience.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Interest in facility engineering, construction, and building infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or interest in pursuing EIT/PE credentials.
- Exposure to HVAC, plumbing, facility design, construction, or operations and maintenance.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MAXIMO, or similar engineering/facility management tools.
- Experience or coursework related to energy management and building systems.
- Previous experience supporting federal or secure facilities.
Salary RangeUSD $100,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
