OverviewM&J is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This role is essential to ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)'s structural assets. Candidate will work in the field conducting inspections, documenting deficiencies, and coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams to provide support in the area of mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with ELES staff to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for elevator and escalator modernization.
- Create and manage work plans for elevator and escalator modernization projects.
- Design and implement a data-driven predictive maintenance program in partnership with ELES staff.
- Develop assessment criteria for WMATA's vertical transportation assets.
- Conduct comprehensive condition assessments of vertical transportation equipment and prepare detailed reports of findings.
- Coordinate with WMATA personnel to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.
- Prepare materials lists and identify action items required to complete assigned work.
- Respond to WMATA inquiries related to project scope.
- Provide draft documents to stakeholders for review and incorporate feedback prior to finalization.
- Address WMATA comments and revisions on draft documents.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the WMATA Task Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' demonstrable experience managing large, complex projects that include mechanical, structural, or electrical infrastructure.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the signatory jurisdictions of the WMATA compact, i.e., District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia; and
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or
Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
certification.
