Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in Mechanical Design or related role
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering principles
  • Proficient in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM and PLM software, preferably Arena
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing principles
  • Background in electronics packaging design
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with optics design for cameras and/or lighting
  • (Preferred) Experience in structural or thermal design and simulations

Responsibilities

  • Support sustaining engineering for existing products
  • Assist in the development of next-generation products
  • Manage rapid prototyping efforts using machine shop resources
  • Create CAD models and simulations for assigned parts
  • Design fixtures and test setups to validate designs
  • Document designs and compile test results
  • Draft technical drawings for parts and integrate into PLM system

Full Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Support sustaining engineering for existing products.
  • Support development efforts on next generation products.
  • Manage rapid prototyping efforts in machine shop.
  • Develop CAD models and simulations in the designs of your responsible parts.
  • Design fixtures and test set ups to validate designs.
  • Document designs and test results.
  • Draft drawings for all responsible parts and integrate into PLM.

Experience
  • 2+ years experience in Mechanical Design or related role.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering first principles.
  • Experienced in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experienced in using SolidWork PDM and PLM softwares (Arena preferred).
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing principles.
  • Experienced in electronics packaging design.
  • (Preferred) Experience in optics design cameras and/or lighting.
  • (Preferred) Structural or thermal design and simulation experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
