Mechanical Engineer **SIGN-ON BONUS**

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work with cross‑functional teams within the Engineering Group to support the design, development, analysis, and testing of components and systems for advanced nuclear reactor projects. This role is part of our growing engineering organization and is well‑suited for an early‑career engineer who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and contributing in a fast‑paced environment with evolving requirements.

In this position, you will perform a variety of mechanical engineering activities including design support, technical analysis, test planning, documentation development, and coordination across engineering disciplines. You will collaborate closely with analysis engineers, electrical engineers, technicians, and external vendors to drive engineering progress and ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems.

Location: Brea, CA

Salary Range:$83,800 - $111,000 plus bonus

Your Challenge:

  • Developing mechanical designs of hydraulically operated equipment, valves, and various nuclear plant components in CAD (SolidWorks)

  • Creation of component level manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings.

  • Preparation of engineering documentation including design specifications, test plans, and procedures

  • Coordinate cross-functionally between mechanical, electrical, and analysis teams to drive the design process.

  • Create and execute test strategies based on system requirements, support hands-on testing and troubleshooting

  • Support technicians during fabrication or test setup and assist in resolving issues

  • Review customer specifications and drawings; participate in customer meetings and technical discussions

Your Expertise and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of Mechanical Design or Test Engineering experience.

  • Familiarity with metalworks in engineering applications and common manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, welding)

  • High proficiency in CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred), engineering drawings, GD&T and related standards.

  • Experience or exposure to test development, testing, or lab work

  • Ability to thrive in a work environment with evolving requirements and limited prior designs

  • Ability to work cross-functionally

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Attentive to detail while maintaining proper perspective.
