As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Develop new equipment and standardize existing machine designs
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for manufacturing and assembly issues
- Improve and update current product lines using new tools, materials, and lessons learned
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure machines are built to specification
- Lead or facilitate technical design reviews to support knowledge sharing and peer development
- Apply critical thinking to resolve complex technical challenges independently
- Generate innovative ideas to improve equipment, processes, and engineering outcomes
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
- Contribute to projects that impact communities in Fergus Falls, Willmar, Osakis, and Glenwood, and the greater Alexandria, MN metro
- Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
- 4+ years of machine design experience using Creo
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges
- Experience collaborating across business functions and contributing to team success
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
ESTIMATED PAY RANGEEngineer I: $34.62-$40.38/hour
Engineer II: $38.46-$44.23/hour
Engineer III: $43.27-$49.04/hour
Senior Engineer: $46.63-$53.85/hour
Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.
