Full Job Description
MDM Solution Architect

Are you passionate about data? Do you believe that quality master data is critical for driving the right business decisions? Are you ready to lead innovative Master Data Management strategies and solutions? This role at Axtria is the right fit for you!

We are looking for an MDM Specialist to join our Data Management practice, driving MDM best practices, strategy, and execution across global implementations. You will be responsible for generating business value through improved data quality and well-governed master data - managed as a product within the enterprise data fabric.

This role requires deep expertise in MDM principles, data quality management, and data privacy and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

MDM Strategy & Solution Design
  • Drive thought leadership in MDM platform selection and strategy, with expert knowledge of leading platforms such as Informatica IDMC and Reltio.
  • Design comprehensive MDM solution blueprints aligned to client priorities, covering all core MDM tenets - data stewardship, reference data management, hierarchy management, integrations (API and batch), data residency, and data privacy and security.
  • Lead AI-first MDM solution design in conjunction with cloud-native capabilities (AWS, Azure, GCP), incorporating agentic use cases such as automated stewardship, intelligent entity resolution, and exception-handling workflows.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and pharma regulatory changes impacting data management practices.

Client Delivery & Technical Leadership
  • Identify and assess client MDM gaps across people, process, and technology; recommend solutions addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
  • Own end-to-end technical solution architecture, ensuring alignment with client near-term and strategic objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between client business and IT teams.
  • Ensure solution quality through review of test strategies, test plans, and test cases, and oversight of their successful execution.
  • Perform hands-on MDM configurations and integrations as needed.
  • Lead and facilitate client pre-sales and project workshops; act as a trusted advisor to client and internal stakeholders.
  • Design and execute processes that drive operational efficiency and support long-term MDM sustainment.

AI & GenAI Capabilities
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of AI/GenAI capabilities within modern MDM platforms, including agentic use cases such as automated stewardship, intelligent entity resolution, and exception-handling.
  • Fluent in Large Language Models (LLMs) and experienced in designing and developing AI Agents; evaluate, guide, and govern their application across MDM domains (HCP/HCO/Product/Account) with appropriate human-in-the-loop and data governance controls.

Business Development
  • Actively contribute to pre-sales and business development for the MDM practice.
  • Develop GenAI-driven MDM use cases, POCs, demos, and accelerators showcasing Axtria's end-to-end MDM capabilities across Life Sciences commercial, medical and clinical domains.
  • Author thought leadership content - point-of-views, white papers, and solution frameworks - addressing client pain points.
  • Lead and contribute to RFP responses in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

People & Practice Development
  • Lead and contribute to Axtria's MDM capability design and build.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members; strengthen MDM technical competencies across the team.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Master Data Management, leading MDM strategy, implementation, and adoption.
  • 5+ years of progressive technical architect experience in Reltio or Informatica IDMC, with a track record of designing and implementing MDM solutions for mid-to-large-scale organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of MDM principles, data quality management, data integration, and data warehouse architecture.
  • Functional knowledge of master data relevance and impact on Pharma Commercial, Medical, and/or R&D functions; Life Sciences commercial or clinical operations experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of GenAI/LLMs, including prompt engineering, RAG fundamentals, embeddings, and model evaluation/monitoring.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled data quality, entity resolution, and stewardship automation with strong governance and compliance considerations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and logical data modelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to lead discussions with technical and business leaders.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills; comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements in an advisory capacity.
