Description

The Service Logistics Planner will serve as the primary supply chain focal point for the Americas region, managing inventory planning, logistics operations, 3PL warehouse activities, and service material availability to support customer-facing operations.

This role requires a highly experienced supply chain professional who can independently manage inventory planning, logistics execution, service escalations, and cross-functional supply chain initiatives. The position plays a key role in ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, customer service support, and operational excellence across the service organization.

Pay Range: $100,000- $120,000 Annually (DOE)

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with hands-on execution skills and has experience working in a fast-paced global service environment.

Role Responsibilities

Service Parts Planning & Inventory Management

  • Manage planning and replenishment of service spare parts across multiple locations.
  • Develop inventory strategies to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Monitor inventory, shortages, excess stock, slow-moving inventory, and obsolescence risks.
  • Analyze demand patterns and forecast service material requirements.
  • Lead inventory accuracy initiatives and discrepancy investigations.
  • Drive inventory optimization and stocking strategies.

Logistics & Distribution Management

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Manage urgent service escalations and critical customer requests.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouses.
  • Manage day-to-day activities with 3PL warehouses, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Monitor warehouse performance, service levels, and operational KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate execution of inventory transactions and material movements between warehouses, customer sites, and field engineers.
  • Lead inventory discrepancy investigations and corrective actions with 3PL partners.
  • Drive warehouse process improvements to support operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve transportation issues.
  • Support import/export compliance activities.

Service Logistics Support

  • Partner closely with Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and Field Service Engineers.
  • Ensure material availability for installations, preventive maintenance, and customer escalations.
  • Coordinate return material processes including RMA, defective parts, and repair flows.
  • Support business continuity during critical supply situations.
  • ERP & Supply Chain Execution
  • Execute and monitor inventory and logistics transactions in Oracle ERP.
  • Verify transaction accuracy and ensure system-data integrity.
  • Support system improvements and process standardization.
  • Analyze transactional discrepancies and drive corrective actions.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain logistics and inventory performance reports.
  • Track key KPIs including:
  • Inventory Accuracy
  • On-Time Delivery
  • Backorder Performance
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Present findings and action plans to management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Global Planning, Procurement, Service, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Support regional and global supply chain projects.
  • Drive best practices and process improvements across logistics operations.
  • Lead operational reviews and follow-up actions with stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and service performance.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address recurring operational issues.
  • Support warehouse optimization and inventory control initiatives.
  • Participate in supply chain transformation and process improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or Service Operations.
  • Experience supporting spare parts and field service operations in a global environment.
  • Experience working with 3PL providers and transportation management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, receiving, shipping, cycle counts, and material handling processes.
  • ERP experience (Oracle preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and logistics execution
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and inventory management capabilities.
  • Strong ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independent, proactive, and customer-focused.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Semiconductor, High-Tech, Medical Device, or Capital Equipment industries.
  • Knowledge of import/export and international logistics.
