Through personalized coaching, strategic Learning & Development partnerships, and group facilitation, the Mastery Coach drives performance improvement across capability levels, fosters a culture of continuous growth, and embeds operational excellence across ATB Wealth. Mastery Coaches strategically align individual development goals with organizational objectives to deliver expert advice and differentiated client experiences.
PurposeThe Regional Mastery Coach coaches advisors whose growth goals align with advancing foundational through to master-level capabilities. Utilizing data-driven insights, collaborative learning forums, and instructional design partnerships, the coach provides personalized support through assessments, observation, feedback, and facilitation-enhancing self-awareness, refining mindsets, optimizing advisor practices, and driving sustainable business growth.
Accountabilities- Using coaching (human development) methodologies and models, provide ICF aligned internal one-to-one coaching to wealth managers, helping them strengthen their leadership and client relationship skills, navigate complex challenges, enhance performance and translate insights into practical actions that support their growth and business objectives.
- Observe and coach advisors providing coaching to inspire advisors performance and ensure they are running an efficient and effective practice aligned with our Standards of Practice and our Client Experience Scorecard
- Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to design, create, and facilitate content supporting advisor onboarding, development, and other advisor lifecycle programs.
- Facilitate mastery coaching circles to support advisors across all career lifecycle stages, fostering collaborative ideation, real-time problem-solving, and connecting participants with subject matter experts for targeted skill and knowledge enhancement.
- Collaborate with Regional Directors to develop and facilitate regional meetings, through on-site and digital channels. Travel within Alberta is required to attend regional meetings and provide on-site facilitation and support.
- Share high-level trends, patterns, and gaps with leadership and internal partners, when required, with a goal of continuous improvement.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of wealth management domain knowledge, as well as evolving practice management and industry trends as a subject matter expert.
Skills, experience & requirementsDistinctive Skills
- Coaching: Advanced-level skills in empathy, active listening, and providing feedback with a proven ability to coach the whole person to influence and guide behavioral change in others.
- Practice Management: Working knowledge of practice management philosophies, with a strong ability to support advisors overcoming practice management barriers and connecting with experts for a more thorough review.
- Problem Solving: Advanced-level ability to help advisors overcome challenges and barriers, whether those are skill gaps, mindset issues, or lack of resources that hinder performance and prevent them from accomplishing operational and/or business goals, and optimized practices.
- Technology Expertise: Continuous awareness of technology trends, supporting advisors in driving effectiveness and leveraging AI and other digital tools to optimize performance.
- Course Delivery & Facilitation: Advanced ability to deliver and facilitate to a broad audience in an engaging and impactful way. Can present in a variety of formats including in-person, and virtual.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly to a range of audiences.
- Domain Knowledge: Advanced understanding of wealth management, products, services, and industry trends.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders actively managing their expectations. Build trusted relationships as well as anticipating and settling conflicts proactively.
Accreditation
- A university degree or equivalent coursework and experience in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Behavioural Finance, Business, Adult Learning, Human Resources).
- International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification or an equivalent professional coaching accreditation is required and an adherence to the ethical standards associated with professional coaching
- Minimum 5 years in a dedicated coaching or leadership role
- Certification in recognized behavioral and leadership assessment tools (such as EQ-i 2.0 and SDI) is preferred
