The Opportunity:

The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules to ensure the timely delivery of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of scheduling tools, project management principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Master Scheduler will play a critical role in aligning project timelines with strategic objectives and resource availability.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Development and Maintenance:

*Create and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
* Ensure schedules are aligned with project milestones, deadlines, and resource availability.
  • Resource Allocation:

*Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and quality standards.
*Work closely with project managers and team leads to balance workloads and address resource constraints.
  • Risk Management:

* Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies.
*Conduct regular schedule risk assessments and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication:

*Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on schedule status, progress, and any changes.

*Facilitate meetings with project teams to review schedules and address any issues.
  • Process Improvement:

*Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes and tools.
*Implement best practices in scheduling and project management.
  • Compliance and Documentation:

*Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and industry standards.

*Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of schedules and related communications.
  • Support and Mentorship:

*Provide guidance and support to junior schedulers and project team members.

*Mentor and train team members on scheduling best practices and tools.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is ideal.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in scheduling, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
  • Experience in defense, intelligence, or federal projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is preferred.
  • Certification in scheduling (e.g., Certified Associate in Project Management Scheduling (CAPS)) is a plus.
