Master Planner - MRP

Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Master Planner with MRP experience in the Orlando Service Center location. The Master Planner will function as the effective team lead of the parts team material planning specialists, possessing solid foundational experience of the SAP MRP planning process. The selected individual shall lead the MRP team and function as the expert in the MRP role, utilizing proactive communications at all levels of the service and supply chain organizations, to help ensure on-time delivery of our commitments and strive to achieve internal requirements. The Master Planner shall also drive problem resolutions of multiple complexities, engage in initiatives for process improvements, assist in analysis of safety stock, EOQ's and cost reductions with the sourcing team and is responsible for oversight and alignment of system of record demand with sources of supply, including purchasing and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Material Resource Planners, driving MRP best practices, inventory optimization, and effective material planning processes.
  • Oversee demand planning, supply planning, rough-cut capacity planning, inventory control, and materials management activities to support OEM Service Parts operations and organizational S&OP objectives.
  • Monitor and improve demand and supply accuracy, inventory performance, stock disposition, and inventory-related KPIs, including forecasting, slow-moving inventory reviews, reserves management, and months-on-hand performance.
  • Establish and maintain material master data, BOM strategies, and make/buy decisions by collaborating with Engineering, PLM, Manufacturing, Factories, and other stakeholders to support engineer-to-order, new product development, subcontracting, and modification programs.
  • Evaluate and manage the inventory and production impacts of engineering changes (ECR/ECN), material conversions, and consolidation initiatives to maximize existing inventory utilization and minimize duplication.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve business processes, procedures, and ERP system utilization to enhance operational efficiency, accountability, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to leadership regarding inventory optimization, manufacturing synergies, material planning strategies, and continuous process improvements.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • APICS training and/or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a material resource planning role, as well as in-depth knowledge of Material Resource Planning process and inventory management best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP ECC or S4 HANA MRP transactions and reporting are required.
  • Awareness of import / export processes as well as Foreign Trade Zone activities.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the inter-relationship of the following processes: receiving, storage and retrieval of inventory, kitting, assemblies and sub-assemblies, manufacturing, shipping, and distribution.
  • Demonstrated a high degree of planning, organizational, analytical, and financial skills and be able to partner and communicate with all levels of an organization from hourly associates to senior management.
  • Ability to analyze and explain selected variances between actual inventory and system inventory.
