Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Master Automotive Technician, ASE Master Technician, or OEM-Certified Technician to join our growing accident reconstruction and forensic engineering practice. This is a full-time salary position, a professional work environment, full benefits, and long-term advancement opportunity.

This is not a traditional production shop role. In this position, you will perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, documentation, and field investigations in support of accident reconstruction, forensic analysis, and engineering consulting projects.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics, inspections, and mechanical evaluations
  • Support field service technician-style inspections at tow yards, storage facilities, repair shops, and other sites
  • Document mechanical condition, damage, failures, and vehicle system findings
  • Assist with inspection and evaluation of braking, steering, suspension, electrical, drivetrain, and related vehicle systems
  • Prepare clear written notes, inspection summaries, and forensic photo documentation
  • Use Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data entry, organization, and basic algebra calculations
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical documents, and service information
  • Work independently and with engineers and reconstruction specialists on complex investigations
  • Travel regionally as needed; mileage reimbursement provided

Required Qualifications
  • ASE Master Technician or equivalent OEM Master Certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a Master Automotive Technician, Automotive Diagnostic Technician, or Automotive Technician / Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with modern vehicle systems and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to document findings clearly and professionally
  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong math, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for inspections

Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel or heavy truck experience
  • OEM dealership or advanced independent diagnostic experience
  • Experience with field inspections or mobile service work
  • Familiarity with technical reporting
  • Interest in accident reconstruction, forensic analysis, or consulting
