Full Job Description
The Role
This is our first marketing hire. You'll own marketing end to end - strategy and execution - and you'll be the person who builds the function from zero. There's no team to delegate to yet and no playbook to follow. You'll set the narrative, run the channels, and be the connective tissue between our product, our sales team, and the market.
This is a builder's role. You'll write the positioning, launch the campaigns, pitch the press, run the ads, post the content, and then measure what worked and do more of it. As we grow, you'll help us decide what to hire next and how to structure the function.
You'll report directly to the CEO and work side by side with our sales and engineering leads.
Own the company's core messaging architecture and keep it consistent across the website, decks, demos, ads, and sales conversations
Translate deeply technical product capabilities into clear, compelling stories for enterprise buyers (CIOs, CTOs, heads of AI, security and procurement teams)
Build and maintain brand guidelines - voice, tone, visual identity, and editorial standards
Manage brand reputation and any crisis or issues communications
Product Marketing & Launches
Lead go-to-market strategy for product launches and feature releases, from positioning through launch day
Write launch briefs, FAQs, internal announcements, and enablement docs
Own product, solution, and use-case pages on the website
Demand Generation & Performance Marketing
Own paid acquisition end to end: Google Ads (Search, Display, Performance Max) and other paid channels
Manage budgets, bids, and creative; optimize for qualified pipeline, not vanity clicks
Build and optimize landing pages and conversion paths
Own SEO strategy and execution - technical SEO, on-page, and content-led organic growth
Run email and lifecycle marketing: nurture sequences, newsletters, and lead scoring
Content & Thought Leadership
Build and run our content engine: blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, ebooks, one-pagers, and technical explainers
Produce content for every stage of the funnel, from top-of-funnel awareness to bottom-of-funnel sales enablement
Turn our founders' and engineers' expertise into published thought leadership
Own the editorial calendar and keep a steady cadence across channels
Public Relations & Communications
Own PR strategy and media relations - build relationships with journalists covering enterprise AI and agentic AI
Write and pitch press releases, media pitches, and bylined articles
Manage awards, analyst briefings (Gartner, Forrester, Constellation), and industry recognition
Handle inbound press inquiries and coordinate executive interviews and speaking engagements
Social Media & Community
Own all social channels (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and others) - strategy, calendar, and daily execution
Build an executive social presence for our founders and leadership
Grow and engage our community of enterprise AI practitioners and developers
Monitor social conversation, engage authentically, and manage our online reputation
Website & Digital Presence
Own website conversion optimization - continuously test and improve landing pages, messaging, CTAs, user journeys, and other conversion points to increase qualified leads and pipeline
Work with design and engineering (internal or contract) to keep the site fast, current, and on-brand
Build the collateral our sales team needs: pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, ROI models, and competitive battlecards
Partner with sales on repeatable sales plays and messaging that closes enterprise deals
Support ABM (account-based marketing) efforts against target enterprise accounts
Arm the team for security reviews, RFPs, and procurement conversations with the right materials
Events & Field Marketing
Own our presence at conferences, trade shows, and industry events - from booth strategy to speaking slots
Plan and run our own webinars, roundtables, and executive dinners
Manage event logistics, budgets, and follow-up pipeline
Identify and pursue strategic speaking opportunities for the CEO at relevant industry conferences, panels, summits, and other high-value events to build thought leadership and visibility
Partnerships & Co-Marketing
Identify and execute co-marketing opportunities with technology partners, integrators, and channel partners
Manage joint campaigns, webinars, and content with partners
Support partner enablement with co-branded materials
Analytics, Reporting & Operations
Define the marketing KPIs that matter and report on them regularly to leadership
Own marketing analytics and attribution - know what's driving pipeline and revenue
Manage the marketing budget and allocate spend for maximum return
Build repeatable processes so the function can scale as we add people
What We're Looking For
5+ years in marketing, with meaningful experience as a generalist or early/founding marketer at a startup - you've done the work yourself, not just managed people who did
B2B and enterprise experience, ideally in SaaS, developer tools, infrastructure, or AI. You understand long sales cycles, technical buyers, and enterprise procurement
A writer first. You can take a complex technical concept and make it land in a sentence. Writing is the core of this job
Full-stack and hands-on. You've run paid campaigns, written content, pitched press, managed social, and optimized a website. You're comfortable being the only marketer in the building
Comfortable with ambiguity. No playbook, no team, no hand-holding. You figure out what matters and go do it
Data-driven. You measure everything, you know your numbers, and you make decisions from evidence
Technically curious. You can get up to speed on agentic AI, integrations, deployment models, and enterprise security without needing an engineer to translate every word
High agency. You spot problems, take ownership, and ship. You don't wait for permission
Strong collaborator. You work well with founders, engineers, and sales, and you build trust fast
Nice to Have
Experience marketing to enterprise IT, security, or AI buyers
Prior experience as a first or founding marketing hire
Familiarity with the agentic AI / LLM landscape and the players in it
Experience with ABM programs and enterprise demand generation
Design chops (Figma, Canva) or experience managing designers
