Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join the Dive-XL Field Operations team. In this role, you will deploy globally in support of Anduril's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms, leveraging your technical expertise to operate our cutting-edge system in some of the most demanding and dynamic conditions.
WHAT YOU'LL DOTechnical Operations & Troubleshooting:- Deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations from a variety of support vessel types.
- Lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs and associated equipment in the field.
- Master the intricacies of AUV operations and subsystems; serve as a product expert in both hands-on and remote support scenarios.
- Drive challenging and vague technical problems to clarity and resolution at the interface of hardware, software, and networking.
Customer Support & Integration:- Liaise between customers, engineering, and operations for issue resolution, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support the creation, review, and execution of test plans during at-sea testing while working with integration and test engineers.
- Provide constant feedback to the product team to rapidly mature our systems.
Training & Documentation:- Collaborate on training development for initial customer deliveries and follow-on specialized trainings.
- Gather and integrate customer feedback into user documentation and training materials.
- Review and contribute to user documentation for all aspects of AUV operations, including user guides, mission planning guides, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of experience operating at-sea robotic systems, ideally in a customer support role
- Extensive hands-on (field operations, manufacturing, or test) technical experience
- Strong aptitude for problem solving in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and networking
- Proficient with AUV maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair
- Comfortable with Linux, command line interfaces, and software debugging
- Strong computer and documentation experience
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and customer management skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Able to work extended hours as required
- Willingness to travel and support customer-facing operations approximately 50-75% of the time, including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ocean engineering, related discipline, or comparable experience
- Prior military or overseas contracting experience
- Skilled in deck operations using ship-based cranes, A-frames, or dedicated AUV launch/recovery systems
- Knowledgeable in electronics troubleshooting and test equipment use
- Experience in training and qualifying users or junior staff
- Experience with software development
- Expertise in integrating subsea acoustic sensors, navigation, and communication systems
- Knowledge of offshore HSE policies and best practices
US Salary Range
$112,000-$149,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
