Job Description

As a Specialist, Marine Mechanical System, you will be responsible for all mechanical/Auxiliary system along with interfacing into an operatable vessel. More specifically you will :
  • Support the engineering department to produce and review drawings, documentation, and specifications from basic to functional engineering.
  • Support the Integrated logistics support Department to produce vessel specific operating manuals and commissioning documentation.
  • Support the Commissioning Department in safely bringing shipboard systems live in accordance with the commissioning documentation.
  • Present operational commissioned systems to class and client for witness testing and acceptance.
  • Interact with client personnel.
  • Plan and coordinate multiple activities, subcontractors and FSRs to support commissioning tasks and to meet program schedule requirements.
  • Work effectively with others within a project team environment and in accordance with the integrated master schedule for the project.
  • Always adhere to all in-house HSE policies.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Hold a chief engineer certificate (First-class mechanic officer)
  • 10-15 years of related experience.
  • Able to run and coordinate machinery space start-ups safely.
  • Proven experience on a variety of systems on numerous types of vessels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel specifically.
  • Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients.
  • Successful completion of the security screening process and obtainment of the required security clearance under the Federal Government's Contract Security Program (minimum of five [5] years of residency in Canada, with no interruption of six [6] consecutive months).
