The Manufacturing Production Process Engineer for the Detroit Machining Department - Block Line Afternoon Shift is responsible for designing, optimizing, and sustaining production processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert, driving continuous improvement, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, maintaining process capability, supporting cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and regulations.

Position offers a starting salary range of $108,000 – $139,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving to eliminate production issues and increase equipment efficiency.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production methods.
- Troubleshoot and resolve chronic and sporadic manufacturing, quality, and equipment performance issues.
- Maintain process capability and stability for machining, assembly, and automated production systems.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and product engineering teams to support production and implement process improvements.
- Develop production standards, procedures, equipment layouts, and manufacturing methods to maximize operational efficiency.
- Conduct testing, data analysis, and validation activities to ensure process performance and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a collaborative, positive work environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Periodic supervision of production team
Knowledge You Should Bring
- BS/BA in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of or ability to apply Lean/Continuous improvement tools and principles, including experience with problem solving activities
- Extensive mechanical aptitude to diagnose issues with CNC machining equipment
- Machining tool background including drills, reamers, taps and mills
- Experienced with GD&T, CMM Reports and process sheets
- Prior experience leading projects to achieve elevated levels of performance and engagement in a manufacturing or logistics setting is required
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees is required
- Proficient computer skills and utilizing MS Office Applications
- Ability to work weekends as needed
