Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Edmonton Plant I location. In this role, you9ll work under the guidance of the Director of Technical Services and collaborate with teams across the company to improve how we build our product-making processes faster, safer, and more efficient. You9ll lead the Manufacturing Engineering function within our Edmonton plant facilities. This role owns part quality, process design, manufacturing equipment reliability, capital project execution, and continuous improvement across production - partnering closely with Product Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to drive safe, efficient, and scalable manufacturing. This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who is equally comfortable on the plant floor and in front of a project charter, and who wants to leave a visible mark on how a manufacturing operation runs, but, ultimately, help shape the future of our operations. There9s more to any job than words on a page, but on any given day, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing/process engineers and technicians, setting clear priorities and building technical capability across the group.
- Own manufacturing process design and optimization for existing and new product lines, including line layout, automation, increase efficiency, tooling, fixturing, and work-cell design.
- Identify, scope, and lead CAPEX projects from business case through commissioning - managing budget, schedule, vendor selection, and installation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to reduce waste, improve OEE, and increase throughput and first-pass yield.
- Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability through TPM programs, PM optimization, and root-cause failure analysis.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering on manufacturability (DFM) for new products and engineering changes, ensuring smooth transition from design to production.
- Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and process control plans (e.g., VSM, poka-yoke, SPC).
- Lead root-cause problem solving quality, safety, and productivity issues, and drive corrective/preventive actions to closure.
- Manage project timelines and cross-functional communication using structured tools (WBS, RACI Matrix, project charters, Gantt Charts) to keep initiatives on track.
- Track and report key manufacturing metrics (OEE, yield, scrap, downtime, through put, cost) to plant leadership and build the roadmap for ongoing improvement.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all engineering work complies with OH&S regulations and internal safety standards.

Education & Certification: Bachelor9s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field; must be registered as a P.Eng. designation with APEGA or an equivalent provincial association.
Manufacturing Experience: 5+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, including 2+ years in a formal leadership or supervisory role. Preference for backgrounds in both automated and manual assembly- Experience in fenestration, building products, metal fabrication, or a similarly process-intensive manufacturing environment is a strong asset
Process & Lean Expertise: Proven track record in applying lean manufacturing principles (e.g. Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen), with demonstrated success in process optimization and automation initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with fluency in root-cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
Project Management and CAPEX: Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional stakeholder management. Proven track record leading CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of manufacturing systems, quality tools, and process controls; skilled in data analysis, time studies, line balancing, and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks); familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and automation is an asset.
Soft Skills & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities with a demonstrated ability to build, coach, and lead technical teams, with strong performance management and talent development skills. Clear, confident communicator, comfortable presenting to plant leadership and influencing across departments.
