Manufacturing Engineer

RFA Engineering is currently recruiting for several Manufacturing Engineer positions supporting manufacturing and production operations in Pontiac, Illinois. Opportunities are available across varying experience levels with both 1st and 2nd shift positions.

Selected candidates will support manufacturing operations, production processes, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Opportunities may include machining and CNC process development, assembly and test operations, process improvement, APQP activities, equipment troubleshooting, production support, and quality improvement. The work will be highly collaborative with manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, design, and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily manufacturing and production operations.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Provide hands-on shop floor support and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements focused on quality, safety, productivity, and cost.
  • Support machining, CNC, assembly, test, and automated manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and standard work.
  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support APQP activities including Process Flow, Control Plans, and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Analyze manufacturing and test results to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Support testing and validation of new processes and process improvements.
  • Work closely with production operators to maintain and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, design, and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve production issues.
  • Support implementation of engineering changes and manufacturing process updates.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process reviews.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline preferred. Comparable manufacturing experience may also be considered.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, machining, assembly, production, or related technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, operations, quality, and production teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Desired Experience

  • Experience with manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with machining processes and CNC equipment.
  • Experience with CNC programming or manufacturing process development.
  • Experience with assembly and test operations.
  • Experience with APQP, Process Flow, Control Plans, and PFMEA.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly equipment.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing cells.
  • Experience with machining processes such as honing, OD/ID grinding, or centerless grinding.
  • Experience developing and maintaining standard work and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Experience working directly with production operators and manufacturing teams.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience with CAD or other engineering software.
  • Experience supporting high-volume or high-precision manufacturing operations.

Pay Range: $60,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience
