The Manufacturing Engineer plans utilization of facility, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations and helps resolve product or operational problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Develops and designs workplace layouts and material handling methods to improve efficiency and safety.
- Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and equipment.
- Leads or is a member of teams working to reduce waste in the manufacturing processes, including kaizen teams.
- Works on projects involving specification of new equipment, obtains quotations from vendors, weighs out alternatives, and selects preferred supplier. After approval, coordinates installation and validation of machinery, develops preventative maintenance schedule.
- Studies operations sequence, material flow, and functions in order to recommend optimum number of workers, functions and responsibilities.
Some travel will be required, including travel to our Ohio facility. A bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or industrial technology, or other 4 year engineering degree with minimum of 3 years industrial engineering experience is required. Competency in CAD is preferred.
