Responsibilities
What you'll be able to do:
Manufacturing Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program through Ok to Buy + 45 days. Implementation of new/modified tooling and facilities based on product and process changes. Lead manufacturing assembly builds (DCV, TT, PP, MP1 and MP2) in Canada, Mexico & US assembly plants. Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing related issues. Collaborate with multi-functional (PD, STA, MP&L, NMP, MTDC, etc.) activities. Write/modify/maintain process sheets as required post Final Design Judgement. Write tooling design/build/installation scopes of work. Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site. In addition, support tooling design and buy-off at vendor facility. Drive quality, cost, and labor improvements. Develop plant layouts and drive Cycle Line Layouts. Lead/Manage key areas of VME for the upfront feasibility process for programs between TMR and PSC phases of GPDS. Prepare and lead management presentations through Ok to Buy. Support coordination of Program Cost Study responses and work with cross functional teams within the organization to ensure aligned results. Support resolution of Major Architecture and High Investment Plant High Hurts to help mitigate Launch risks in Forward Model Development. Document and present Lessons Learned to core to either create or update Mfg. standards. Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico required. Domestic and International Travel Required up to 90%. Location is 20901 Oakwood Blvd,

Qualifications
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Designing and Implementing tooling, process and facilities changes to support new product implementation on the plant floor in Automotive Industry facilities. 2. Leveraging statistics including control charts, and data collection to validate and monitor new product and process performance. 3. Utilizing AutoCAD software to develop production line layout changes to accommodate the new product. 4. Leveraging error proofing techniques (Poke-Yoke, Fixtures, Cameras, Scanners) to improve process and product quality performance. 5. Using Program Management Techniques including Grantt Charts, Critical Path Assessment, or Master schedule to ensure flawless implementation of tooling and layout changes in the production line without jeopardizing program Time, Quality and Cost. 6. Leveraging Problem Solve Techniques including 6-Sigma, and Global 8D to assess data and drive continuous improvement during new product implementation to achieve Time, Quality and Cost. 7. Utilizing virtual tools including Team Center, Solid Works, CATIA, or CAD to assess product compatibility with assembly process to understand potential tooling and layout changes.
We are offering a salary of $110,219.00 - $166,200.00/yr.
