The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes within the Radiation Monitoring manufacturing department, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness by analyzing production methods, equipment, and materials, often collaborating with other departments to identify and implement improvements across nuclear product lines.
Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities
- Process/product mastery and ownership
- Day-to day shop floor support
- Manufacturing traveler/router creation and modification
- Manufacturing equipment selection and implementation
- Disposition of non-conforming product and equipment
- Product and process failure analysis and troubleshooting
- Fixturing design and implementation
- Manufacturing procedure creation, modification, and associated operator training
- Engineering change management
- Capital Equipment project justifications, submissions and management
- Manufacturing process and quality control through collaboration with operators, data collection, and trend tracking
- Manufacturing process audits
- Purchasing manufacturing tooling and consumables
- Scrap reduction through process improvement projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college required
- At least 4 years of experience preferred in Manufacturing or Process Engineering. Candidates possessing degrees in the following areas will be considered: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics, Manufacturing Engineering Technology
