ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Project Manager based in the Gulf Coast region (Louisiana) to join our growing Capital Project Delivery Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced consulting professional who thrives at the intersection of project leadership, environmental permitting, and strategic client advisory services. In this highly visible, client-facing role, you will help guide complex capital projects from concept through delivery, supporting some of the most significant investments across the oil and gas, LNG, power, renewable energy, low carbon, and energy transition sectors. If you're looking to expand your influence, lead multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to projects that are redefining the country's energy future, this role offers the platform to do just that.

Why This Role Matters?

As organizations invest in critical infrastructure and energy transition initiatives, successful project delivery depends on strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and effective risk management. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex permitting processes, environmental impact assessments, and project delivery challenges while advancing sustainable and responsible development.

You will play a key role in strengthening ERM's presence within the Diversified Energy sector, managing high-profile projects, supporting business growth, and collaborating with experts across ERM's national Low Carbon Energy Transition (LCET) network. Your work will directly contribute to both project success and ERM's broader global strategy.

What Your Impact Is

  • Lead the successful delivery of capital development projects across the energy sector by managing scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and project risk.

  • Provide strategic permitting and environmental impact assessment guidance for complex infrastructure and energy projects.

  • Serve as a trusted client advisor throughout project lifecycles, from proposal development through project execution and delivery.

  • Support the advancement of low carbon and energy transition projects that are reshaping the industry.

  • Strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand services and support commercial growth.

  • Help develop and mentor team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing project environment.

  • Influence the successful delivery of projects involving oil and gas pipelines, LNG facilities, low carbon capital development, solar, onshore wind, offshore wind, energy storage, and transmission.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • 4+ years of experience in either a consulting environment or working substantially within the energy sector.

  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.

  • Experience managing projects with multidisciplinary teams and balancing multiple priorities, workstreams, and deadlines.

  • Experience managing and performing multi-media permitting associated with capital development projects.

  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting requirements and regulatory processes.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the energy regulatory environment, key regulatory agencies, and current and emerging issues.

  • Strong analytical, technical writing, presentation, and client communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work products.

  • Ability to work independently while leading project teams and driving project execution.

  • Experience supporting commercial success through identifying client opportunities, proposal development, and cross-selling multidisciplinary services.

  • Experience with line management and/or contributing to the professional development of team members.

  • Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and a desire to work within a growing team.

  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

  • 7+ years of experience in either a consulting environment or working substantially within the energy sector.

  • Impact Assessment expertise, including NEPA EA/EIS, FERC, or similar agency experience.

  • Familiarity with Texas and Louisiana state permitting requirements.

  • ESHIA (Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessment) experience.

  • Understanding of ERM's Diversified Energy Sector and the companies operating in this market, including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.
