•    Determine the investigation methodology and the reporting, tracking, and analysis systems appropriate to each event, and ensure that incident and corrective action data remains complete and consistent across whatever platforms are in use.
•    Own the corrective and preventive action register across all sources of findings and verify the effectiveness of corrective action rather than its completion.

•    Proactive and Adaptable: Anticipates regulatory and operational change and responds effectively when priorities shift.
•    Present and Responsive: Works routinely in the terminal rather than from a desk, is available to respond and react as events occur, and is known and trusted by the Terminal team.

VI.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position involves regular outdoor work in extreme heat and cold, including routine climbing of bulk storage tanks of up to one hundred stairs, reaching into rail cars and barges, and accessing sampling and inspection locations throughout the facility. The position must be capable of opening manways and placing and removing equipment weighing up to sixty pounds and carrying that equipment where a vehicle cannot travel. The work environment includes industrial and laboratory chemicals, wastewater samples, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, elevated areas, and moving decks.

VII.    OUTCOMES

Success in this position is a terminal that is rarely surprised by itself. Regulatory obligations are met on time and without reminder, and the records behind them withstand agency and customer review. Compliance and quality issues are identified, investigated properly, and corrected in a way that keeps them from returning. New business is evaluated early enough so that commercial decisions are made with a clear understanding of what handling the product will actually require, which allows CTC to say yes with confidence. Over time, the measure of this role is that fewer problems arrive unannounced, and the ones that do are met by someone who already knows where to look.
