Job Summary:The Manager of Merchandising Taxonomy & Attribution is the primary custodian of enterprise SKU and vendor data integrity and domain policy. Leading a team of Data Domain Governance Leads and Data Audit Specialists, youare responsible forthe policy enforcement and rigorous maintenance of the product hierarchy, attribute framework, and digital assets. This role ensures that all SKU, category, and vendor dataisgoverned by clear standards andvalidatedfor accuracy, enabling a seamless downstream data syndication across all retail, professional, and e-commerce channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:Leada dual-function team of Domain Governance Leads (policy/standards) and Data Audit Specialists (execution/validation) tomaintainagoldstandard for enterpriseSKU and vendordata.

  • Domain Policy Enforcement:Supportand enforce clear data governance policies for SKU and vendor domains, ensuring all new and existing data meets strict enterprise requirements.

  • Rigorous Data Auditing:Oversee comprehensive audit programs tovalidatethe accuracy of product attributes and the integrity of digital asset associations (images, videos, etc.).Ensure data syndicates properlydownstreamacross all systems and sales channels.

  • Hierarchy Management:Maintainand evolve themerchandisingproduct hierarchy and category structures to align with Merchandising strategies.

  • Vendor Data Governance:Partner with Supplier Services to ensure vendor-provided data and assets are compliant with internal standards before entering the production ecosystem.

  • Continuous Improvement:Use audit results toidentifysystemic data defects and partner withappropriate technologyteamsto implement root-cause fixes and workflow enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in enforcing data policies and managing complex data audit cycles in a high-volume retail environment.

  • Understandinghow master data feeds into downstream channels (PIM, DAM, E-commerce) and the impact of data quality on those systems.

  • Ability to lead a team with varying levels of specialization, from policy-driven domain leads to detail-oriented audit specialists.

  • Expertisein managing product hierarchies thatsupport merchandisingcategorization.

Certifications, Experience, and Education:

  • Certifications:None; CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance Stewardship Professional) is highly preferred.

  • Experience:5+ years in Data Governance, MDM, or Taxonomy Management; 2+ years of experience leading a team of specialists or leads.

  • Education:Bachelor27s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Administration, ora relatedfield;OR relevantwork-relatedexperience.

Location & Work Availability:

This position isHybrid (4days in office,1day remote),based at our corporate headquarters inRaleigh, North Carolina.
