Full Job Description
  • DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
      • The Manager of Surgical Services is a professional responsible for overseeing the operations of Surgical Services, Sterile processing department (SPD), and Endoscopy. In conjunction and collaboration with the Director of Perioperative Services, the manager will direct, implement, and evaluate programs and patient care within the assigned areas of responsibility. The manager supervises staff in the operations of surgical services, SPD, and Endoscopy and has 24 hour accountability. The manager is expected to step in and assist with clinical care in high acuity, high volume times, on-call, and in emergencies.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional/Educational
      • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree preferred.
      • Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
      • Five years of healthcare experience with at least three of them being in a Charge RN or Supervisory role in a related nursing department.
      • Current CPR with the American Heart Association required.
      • Certified as a nurse leader & manager (CNML) preferred.
      • DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
      • CNOR preferred.

      • Demonstrated ability to manage both clinicians, supply chain, EVS, and clerical staff.
      • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
      • Ability to exhibit / promote progressive management skills in order to facilitate change.
