SummaryAs a Supply Chain Warehouse Manager, you will orchestrate the daily activities of the warehouse facility. Your primary mission is to optimize operational workflows, manage a diverse team, and maintain rigorous inventory controls. You will serve as the bridge between procurement, logistics, and the end customer, ensuring that the right products reach the right place at the right time.
Detailed Description- Operational Excellence: Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Inventory Management: Lead cycle counts and physical audits to ensure 99%+ inventory accuracy. Manage stock levels to prevent bottlenecks or overstocking.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor warehouse staff. Set performance KPIs, conduct appraisals, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Technology Integration: Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software to track goods and generate analytical reports for senior management.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the facility meets all OSHA and local regulatory standards. Oversee the maintenance of material handling equipment (MHE) like forklifts and conveyors.
- Cost Control: Manage the department budget, focusing on reducing waste, optimizing labor costs, and negotiating with freight carriers or vendors.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies- Strategic Planning: Ability to forecast labor needs and space requirements based on seasonal trends.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Manhattan Associates) and Microsoft Excel.
- Problem Solving: Quick thinking to resolve logistics delays, equipment failures, or inventory discrepancies.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with truck drivers, vendors, and corporate executives.
Physical Demands- Mobility: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on concrete warehouse floors.
- Lifting: Ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Environment: Comfortable working in varying temperatures (some warehouses are climate-controlled, others are not) and around loud machinery.
- Vision/Hearing: Must have the sensory acuity to operate or oversee the operation of heavy machinery and maintain situational awareness.
Typical Experience- Seven to ten years of relevant experience
Typical Education- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
