The OpportunityVideo is increasingly how parents find Good Inside. We're seeking a
Manager, Studio and Production to build and lead our video and audio production function across YouTube, podcasts, livestreams, app content, partner ads and social.
We're bringing our production in-house, and we're hiring the person to build it. You'll set the strategy, stand up the team and studio, and transition our work off a freelance model.
This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of how parents experience Good Inside. You'll set the vision and roadmap for how Good Inside produces content. You'll own the studio, the production budget and the team, and partner with editorial, social, partnerships and product leaders to shape what we make and how it reaches parents. On an average filming day, the studio might deliver a YouTube series, two podcast recordings, a live workshop, two app recordings, three partner ad spots and a social video. On shoot days, you're behind the camera. Between them, you're managing the team's output and cutting pieces yourself. You'll build the team, systems and standards that make days like that repeatable.
We're looking for a production leader who has built a studio or video function before, still shoots and cuts, and can grow a team as our ambitions grow. If you want to define what video looks like at Good Inside, this role is for you.
This is a hybrid role and requires 3 days per week in our Midtown Manhattan office.
What You'll Own- Lead the transition of Good Inside's production from a freelance model to an in-house studio, including team structure, workflows, vendor relationships and the handoff of existing work.
- Set Good Inside's studio and production strategy, including the roadmap, priorities and creative standards for all video and audio content across editorial, social, partners, B2B, coaching and more.
- Own the production budget, including studio investments, equipment, freelancer and vendor spend. Make the tradeoffs that maximize quality and output.
- Build and lead the production team, managing video editors and senior production staff and hiring as the function grows. Set clear goals, coach for growth and create a team others want to join.
- Partner with editorial, social, partnerships and product leaders on the content roadmap, shaping both what we make and how it gets made. Bring original concepts and formats to the table.
- Define and track how the function measures success, such as output, turnaround, cost per asset and platform performance. Use those insights to improve what we make and how we make it.
- Oversee every production from pre-production through final delivery, from solo shoots to multi-crew days. Shoot on filming days and edit between them alongside your team.
- Own production for livestreams and for partner and sponsor ad spots, setting the standards for how ads are shot, cut and mastered for each placement across YouTube, Spotify, Apple and in-app.
- Collaborate with our Executive Producer and our Content & Events Operations Manager to deliver podcast episodes, livestreams and event shoots at a high bar.
- Build the systems that let the studio scale, including workflows, our content management system (CMS) and digital asset management (DAM) system, the video archive, and vendor and freelancer relationships.
Your Skills & Experience- 7+ years of video and audio production experience, including 2+ years leading a production team or function.
- A track record of building or scaling a studio or video function, ideally at a media brand, creator-led company or consumer startup. Experience moving production from freelance or agency support to an in-house team is a strong plus.
- Experience owning a production budget and making smart tradeoffs between quality, speed and cost.
- A strong creative point of view, with a reel that shows range across long form, short form, social and branded or partner content.
- You're still hands-on: you can run a camera, light a set, conduct an interview, cut the piece yourself and give sharp notes on someone else's edit.
- You've hired and developed great people, and you have a strong network of freelancers and vendors.
- You're steady, patient and professional with on-set talent, including a founder who is also the face of the brand.
- Bonus: experience creating app or subscription content for parenting or family audiences, and deep familiarity with YouTube.
