Role Overview:
If you have a passion for case staffing and are looking for an opportunity to showcase your resource management skills, then we would like to meet with you!

The Manager, Staffing and Development oversees all aspects of project staffing and related professional development in their respective office. This position plays a role in the development of individuals, the effectiveness of case teams and Cornerstone's collective ability to provide consistently outstanding quality work and client service. This position works closely with consultants regarding their developmental needs, interests, and objectives. The Manager, Staffing and Development identifies trends in morale, learning, and hiring needs and collaborates with consulting colleagues, the Talent team, and many corporate areas within the firm on developmental initiatives in a variety of areas.

How You'll Help Our Team Succeed:
  • Take ownership of and lead the project staffing process for billable and non-billable projects while accounting for specific case needs, development needs, and timing.
  • Work closely with staffing team, officers, and case managers to understand and stay on top of a rapidly changing pipeline of projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ensure ongoing dialogue with case managers and advisors to align staffing decisions with skill and professional development goals.
  • Work proactively to anticipate, identify and address challenging staffing issues.
  • Coordinate with staffing managers in other offices to ensure that firm-wide staffing needs are met; when appropriate leverage staffing function with technology.
  • Recommend and implement changes to help improve staffing process in local office.
  • Manage communication of staffing decisions throughout the office.
  • Train and mentors junior members within the team.


What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience that demonstrates increasing capability and responsibility; professional services, legal, or staffing experience experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to cultivate strong business relationships and work within a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and attention to detail and a proven ability to analyze and anticipate potential conflicts and resolve quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office required.
  • The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm's financial and operational functions.
  • The mindset to provide superior service.
  • The ability to commute to our office in Washington, DC to comply with our hybrid work policy of 2-3 days per week in office.
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.


Cornerstone Research is offering a competitive market base salary for this position. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in all eligible locations. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Cornerstone Research, we believe compensation is more than just a base salary. We offer a competitive total compensation package that includes an annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits such as flexible options for healthcare, paid time off, and retirement savings. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

San Francisco/Silicon Valley: $94,400.00 - $132,800.00
