The
Software Engineering Manager will lead the development, delivery, and support of software products that enable Holtec's manufacturing operations and SMR digital solutions. This role will manage software engineers and technical contributors, provide technical direction, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and ensure products meet business, quality, security, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering experience with people leadership, project execution, stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:Engineering Leadership- Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and technical team members.
- Provide directions on software architecture, application design, databases, APIs, integrations, security, and performance.
- Establish standards for code quality, documentation, testing, version control, and release management.
- Guide the team in resolving production issues and implementing lasting corrective actions.
Product Development and Delivery- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and support.
- Lead development of manufacturing applications, workflow systems, reporting tools, engineering solutions, and digital products supporting SMR projects.
- Translate business and operational needs into clear requirements, technical plans, backlogs, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure software includes appropriate controls for data integrity, access, approvals, auditability, cybersecurity, and compliance.
- Manage integrations with ERP systems, databases, third-party platforms, APIs, and enterprise services.
Stakeholder and Project Management- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, project management, quality, compliance, IT, cybersecurity, and business leadership.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and resource needs.
- Balance production support, project commitments, business priorities, and long-term technical improvements.
- Manage backlog prioritization, sprint planning, resource allocation, testing, and release schedules.
Team and Process Improvement- Improve delivery predictability, accountability, communication, and collaboration across development teams.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and technical development.
- Promote a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high-quality delivery.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, or a closely related field, including experience leading software teams or complex technical projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development teams or technical project teams.
- Strong experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies, including C#, .NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, JavaScript, and web technologies.
- Experience with software architecture, APIs, system integrations, relational databases, reporting, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, production support, and change management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and high-priority production issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Agile development, and release management.
- Experience with ERP, procurement, workflow, document management, reporting, or operational systems.
- Experience leading distributed or onsite/offshore teams.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, data governance, audit trails, access control, AI, and automation.
- Experience delivering products with rigorous quality, regulatory, or compliance requirements.
Compensation:- Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $150,000 to $180,000
