About The Team

Kreischer Miller continues to prosper and grow! With nearly 300 team members located in Horsham, PA, we are currently seeking to add a Tax Manager to our outstanding Tax Strategies team.

Kreischer Miller has a large and experienced tax department comprised of tax specialists with international firm and Fortune 500 company experience. Our knowledgeable professionals are dedicated to providing sophisticated, yet practical solutions to our clients' tax concerns with a view toward reducing their overall tax burden.

Our Tax Strategies practice has been designed to service a broad range of clientele, from emerging small businesses to large multinational companies, as well as business owners and high-net-worth individuals. This position will fill a key role as the firm responds to the dynamic market opportunities available to its Tax practice. At Kreischer Miller, you will have the opportunity to work with business owners in a variety of industries and learn directly from leaders in our firm. Unfortunately, we are not considering applicants with a background exclusively in government agencies such as the IRS at this time.

What you'll do:

Tax Managers are given a wide variety of diversified Tax assignments. At Kreischer Miller, you will have the opportunity to work with business owners in a variety of industries and learn directly from leaders in our firm.
  • Develop and manage a positive working relationship with clients as well as collaboration with our professional staff in our Audit & Accounting, Tax Strategies, Transaction Advisory & Business Valuation, and Technology Solutions practices.
  • Coordinate concurrent tax projects with some of the area's leading companies, including addressing significant accounting matters, preparing client deliverables, scheduling other team members, mentoring staff, and helping us implement new processes to ensure that we remain in a leadership position in our market. As you progress, you'll also take on a formal career counselor role, supporting the growth of a small group of team members.
  • Help grow our client base - play a critical role in one of the specialized industry groups, develop a productive personal network, and identify new business opportunities
  • Perform efficient, accurate, complete and timely review of clients' tax returns, as well as planning and research. Able to handle audits with governmental agencies (federal and state/local) and related notices.
  • Review and provide analyses of complex tax returns across a range of entity types and client structures, reflecting the generalist, all-client-facing nature of the role.
  • Makes decisions on all but the most unusual situations.

What we're seeking
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 6-8 years of recent tax experience in public accounting; with demonstrated ability to function at the manager level, not just years toward a title.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations, and proven progression in tax return complexity, scope, and research. Some experience representing clients before tax authorities is helpful
  • Strong commitment to excellence, client service, and professional growth
  • The ability to manage multiple tax projects and clients while developing/training staff and building teams
  • A team player who's motivated to work in a fast paced environment, with a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn
  • A strong ability to understand the "big picture" quickly, identify key issues, prioritize analysis/output among many competing tasks, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.

Working Conditions:

Kreischer Miller offers a flexible hybrid work model designed to support both collaboration and work-life balance. For most positions, the current expectation is to be in the office three days per week with in office schedules for specific positions dependent on the needs of our clients, the need to develop the skills of our professionals and the nature of each professional's role. Our team thrives in a supportive, high-performing environment where individuals are trusted and held accountable for their contributions. Standard hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm outside of busy season, with increased charge hours expected during peak periods. Some travel to client sites in the greater Philadelphia area should be expected, though it is not extensive.
