Partner with the bestIn this role, you'll help lead our global team of SREs who manage & support our Linode's IAM (Identity and Access Management) services. Our SRE team works on tooling and software that monitors and improves the reliability, scalability, security, and usability of Cloud IAM applications.
As a Manager Site Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and mentoring a team of talented SRE engineers and unblocking team members with regards to technical and process hurdles.
- Partnering with stakeholders to understand and shape the product roadmap.
- Taking ownership for technical and product innovation, exercising design thinking, analyzing systems and developing solutions.
- Organizing and operating in an Agile environment to drive SRE activities.
- Focusing on team goals and building collaborative and effective working relationships through establishing commitments, accountability and trust.
- Contributing to internal research processes, methodologies, and approaches to create and share best practices
- Diagnosing system performance and reliability together with the team of Site Reliability Engineers
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Possess experience in SRE or Development role, working with large scale distributed systems.
- Have experience leading and mentoring a team.
- Have experience building with cloud native technologies and cloud deployments at scale.
- Demonstrate experience with Container Runtimes (e.g. docker, containers, etc), Go, Python, or Bash scripting
- Be familiar with software development practices and product life cycles through build, test, deploy, and iterative environments.
CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 129,400 - 232,800 CAD/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
