Job Description:

  • Provides regular, standardized volume and referral reports, and volume strategy updates to campus and institutional leadership.
  • Develops strategies to expand the program's referral base and retains existing business.
  • Collaborates with campus and institutional marketing teams to promote the program.
  • Manages the department's operating budget and monthly budget reports.
  • Develops annual operating and capital budgets in conjunction with the campus and institution and implements corrective action plans for budget variances.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with referring physicians and their office staff.
  • Monitors and improves patient satisfaction and customer service, addressing complaints and safety issues promptly.
  • Coordinates equipment and facilities maintenance, ensuring timely service and addressing issues.
  • Works with appropriate staff members on new treatment techniques, methods, and equipment.
  • Oversees staff, manages human resources issues, and coordinates training and coverage as needed.
  • Monitors staff satisfaction and engagement, develops plans to increase scores, and keeps staff informed of relevant information.
  • Ensures regulatory readiness by monitoring tracers and corrective action plans and updating leadership on progress.
  • Participates in campus and leadership meetings as requested
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of operations for a hospital-based Radiation Oncology Center; including clinical, clerical, and financial functions
  • Knowledge of marketing for a freestanding radiation oncology center
  • Effective public speaking skills with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff within the department, physicians, hospital administration, and patients
  • Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve campus as well as institutional goals
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Aria; Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; and internet searches
  • Project planning management skills
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of anatomical structures for localization
  • Technical skills to accomplish the treatment plan proposed by the Radiation Oncologist
  • Ability to think and respond clearly and quickly in high pressure/high volume environments
