Full Job Description
Manager, Project Development
Remote (EST) | Solar + Storage | Community Solar / C&I / Small Utility-Scale

A high-growth, founder-led developer is hiring a Manager to drive distributed generation projects from site control through NTP across the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic.

This is a pure-play clean energy platform with a real pipeline across community solar, C&I, and small utility-scale. The team is nimble, geographically dispersed, and entrepreneurial. You'd report directly to the Chief Distributed Generation Officer and own a meaningful slice of the pipeline with real autonomy, not sit three layers deep in process.

What you'll do
Drive a subset of the DG pipeline from site control to NTP. That means managing vendors, timelines, budgets, and the day-to-day work of getting projects across the line. You'll handle monthly and quarterly reporting on budgets, timelines, and risk for internal and investor audiences. You'll support market growth through policy tracking, negotiating land control, and screening new opportunities. Expect to be on the road 25-30% of the time for landowner meetings, permitting hearings, and community engagement, often at short notice.

What we're looking for
  • 6+ years in distributed generation development or origination (community solar, C&I, or small utility-scale)
  • At least 2 years closing projects in Maryland, New York, Illinois, or another active CS market in the eastern US
  • Working knowledge of land agreements, PPAs, PILOTs, and MIPAs
  • Comfort with the technical side of solar and storage design at a directional level
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, GIS, and Helioscope
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field

Helpful but not required

Time inside a sub-20-person developer. PMP or similar. Master's degree. Any experience helping build software tools to support development workflow.

Location

Remote, but candidates must live in NY, PA, NJ, MD/VA, New England, or NC.

Compensation

Competitive base, annual performance bonus, company equity, 401(k), unlimited PTO, full health/dental/vision, and life/disability coverage.
