Job DescriptionTitle: Manager, Professional Services
Reports to: Todd Stallard, EVP Sales
Location: Remote (U.S.), proximity to a major airport preferred; travel up to 40-50% to client sites, partner offices, Mach7 offices, and industry events
About the RoleAt Mach7, we believe software is the easy part to buy, and going live is the plan. The people who build the software are the people who deploy it. We are now launching a Consulting Services practice to help health systems plan, migrate, integrate, and get more value from their imaging estates.
You will build that practice from the ground up, while drawing on experienced Mach7 colleagues and subject-matter experts who will contribute their knowledge under your direction. You'll lead the first engagements with support from these internal resources as you establish the dedicated consulting team. This is a full-time player-coach role. On the field, you run diagnostic assessments and strategy engagements with CIOs, CMIOs, and imaging leaders. On the sideline, you build the playbook, recruit the team, set the standards, and own the practice P&L. You will bring deep, current credibility in medical imaging and the operating discipline to turn that expertise into a repeatable, profitable business.
Expect to spend roughly 40-50% of your time as a player (leading and delivering assessments, roadmaps, and readouts), 30-35% as a coach (hiring, developing, and reviewing the consulting team; owning methodology, templates, and quality), and 20-25% as a practice builder (owning the catalog, pricing, pipeline, partner delivery, and P&L with Sales and RevOps).
In your first year, success looks like: a live catalog, rate card, and SOW templates with 2-3 anchor assessments signed in the first 90 days; a Principal Consultant and Engagement Manager hired and 2 case studies published by day 180; and by day 365, the practice at or above target margin (≥ 35% gross), 70-75% delivery utilization, a first partner-delivered engagement, a first advisory retainer, and ≥ 40% of assessments converting to follow-on work.
What You'll DoAs a player (client delivery)- Lead Mach7's diagnostic assessments: Imaging Estate Assessment, Migration Readiness, Cloud and On-Prem Economics, EHR Imaging Readiness, and Research Data Readiness.
- Run Enterprise Imaging Strategy & Roadmap engagements, from current-state discovery through a costed, multi-year target architecture and business case.
- Advise on PACS deconstruction, VNA architecture, archive consolidation, cloud and hybrid hosting, EHR image integration (including Epic), and imaging AI and data governance.
- Present findings and recommendations to C-suite, radiology, and IT leadership, and turn each readout into a clear next-step proposal.
- Serve as the senior escalation point and executive sponsor on complex migration and integration programs.
As a coach (team leadership)- Recruit and hire the first consulting team (Engagement Manager, Principal and Senior Consultants) using a Hungry, Humble, Smart standard.
- Lead and coordinate experienced Mach7 team members and subject-matter experts, using their knowledge to strengthen client engagements while the dedicated consulting team is built.
- Coach consultants on delivery, client presence, and commercial judgment; run engagement reviews and quality gates.
- Build and own the consulting playbook: assessment scorecards, SOW library, architecture templates, runbooks, and readout decks.
As a practice builder (business ownership)- Own the Consulting Services P&L: bookings, gross margin, utilization, and client satisfaction.
- Partner with Sales to qualify and close services opportunities using MEDDIC, and drive services attach on new license deals.
- Work with RevOps and Finance on pricing, rate cards, deal desk, revenue recognition, and CRM reporting.
- Represent Mach7 as a thought leader at industry events, webinars, and in published content.
What We're Looking ForRequired
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in medical imaging, radiology IT, or healthcare IT consulting.
- Currently working in the healthcare or medical imaging industry, at a health system, imaging vendor, or healthcare consulting firm.
- Hands-on depth in enterprise imaging: PACS, VNA, enterprise and zero-footprint viewers, DICOM, DICOMweb, HL7, IHE profiles, and image-enabled EHR workflows.
- A track record leading large imaging migrations, archive consolidations, or PACS replacements from assessment through decommission.
- 5+ years leading consulting or delivery teams, including hiring, coaching, and managing billable utilization.
- Experience owning or directly shaping a services P&L, pricing, and SOWs (fixed fee and T&M).
- Executive presence: comfortable advising CIOs, CMIOs, and radiology chairs, and presenting to boards and steering committees.
- Working knowledge of healthcare privacy and security requirements (HIPAA, BAAs, de-identification) and of regulated validation and change control.
- Willingness to travel up to 40-50%, including occasional international travel.
- Bachelor's degree in health informatics, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
- CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) or PARCA certification; PMP or equivalent delivery credential.
- Prior leadership role in radiology or imaging informatics at a health system or academic medical center.
- Experience with Epic imaging integration (Radiant, image launch paths, Care Everywhere) or other major EHRs.
- Cloud imaging experience on AWS or Azure, including hosting economics and migration planning.
- Experience building a practice or new services line from zero at a software or services company.
- Exposure to imaging AI orchestration, research data governance, or registry programs.
- International experience (ANZ, EMEA, GCC, or APAC markets).
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or health informatics).
We recognize that candidates bring diverse experiences and backgrounds. If you don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply! Many strong candidates don't check every box. We value potential, growth, and impact as much as experience.
