Job Description:

Microchip Fab 4 in Gresham, Oregon has an open position on the compressed Back Night shift for a Manager-Production Section (Back Night Production Shift Manager).

This position is responsible for managing direct labor (specialists and leads) and indirect labor (supervisors) while advancing and achieving Fab 4 goals and strengthening the Microchip Culture and Values and will report directly to the Production Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Work collaboratively within a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Hire and effectively manage DL and IDL employees and mitigate attrition.
  • Ensure effective, efficient and sustainable productivity of DL and IDL resources.
  • Lead, coach and develop supervisors and specialists for continuous improvement in job performance.
  • Lead, sponsor, and participate in continuous improvement teams; remove barriers and provide direction.
  • Lead teams to achieve factory KPI goals.
  • Positively impact employee and team morale; continue to improve upon our corporate values.

  • Able to lift 20 lbs; push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 20 lbs; sit 60%; stand 20%; walk 20%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes, or odors.
  • Ability to wear the required cleanroom garment.
