ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure priorities of Safety, Quality, and Productivity are maintained at the forefront of all activities.
  • Role model and ensure company safety policies are adhered to and all department personnel and visitors utilize safe work habits.
  • Prioritize and schedule department to ensure on-time delivery of product. Also, ensure shipping schedules are met utilizing given resources and communicating with involved departments throughout the process.
  • Responsible for increasing throughput, flow and capacity in assigned areas, in conjunction with Production Leaders.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity, quality, profitability and a demand driven manufacturing plant.
  • Strategize and optimize production processes to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing disruptions and enhancing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
  • Displays a good understanding of key aspects of the organization's mission and strategies; can convey this information so that it is relatable to direct reports.
  • Actively involved in Continuous Improvement activities and actively participate in company-wide strategic planning and implementation.
  • Provide leadership in the upholding of Samuel Policies and Values.
  • Shares information and viewpoints openly and directly with others, both written and verbal.
  • Track and diagnose plant KPI's to meet the goals of the division (Productivity, Scrap, Returns, etc.)
  • Collects and understands important data used for financial metrics drawing accurate conclusions from information; makes sound decisions regarding expenditures.
  • Lead and manage production related capital projects required to maintain the plant and/or operations from initiation of capital funds request to completion of the project.
  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Directly leads production leaders and manufacturing weld trainers.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to optimize vehicle performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage fleet vehicle programs.
  • Ensure all CDL drivers adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing, certifications and hours of service.
  • Manage regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, schedule and execute the efficient transportation of goods, materials, and personnel, optimizing routes for time and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline logistics processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Manage facilities maintenance, including building repairs, security, and cleanliness.
  • Other duties as required.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
  • ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows based program.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Completion of post-secondary education, with a major in Business Administration or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
  • Minimum of 5 years of production management experience; manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Experience managing in a job-shop or discrete manufacturing environment within the metal forming industry preferred.
  • A working understanding of business systems and manufacturing practices.
  • Experience with identifying and implementing process improvement.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (i.e. MS Office applications).
