Manager - Production - Die Casting - MOR
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:- Provide leadership to manufacturing department consisting of group leaders, team leaders and technicians.
- Develop an annual operating plan for department to support company operating planning cycle.
- Plan capital and expense budget requirements.
- Be accountable to operating plan and financial commitments.
- Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost and safety objectives.
- Identify training and development needs for department team members.
- Support continuous improvement through Kaizen and leading positive change.
- Support company policy and administer fairly and consistently.
- Facilitate good communications with leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolution.
- Maintain efficiency through lean manufacturing principles, human resource planning, and flexibility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- This position is responsible for supervising department employees in accordance with policies and procedures.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Supervisory knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
- General understanding of highly sophisticated equipment and software.
- General understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical diagrams.
- Understanding of quality assurance system.
- General understanding of cutting tools and material (machining).
- General understanding of production control in mass-production manufacturing.
- Solid problem solving skills using a variety of statistical and root cause tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with lean production concepts and tools.
- Positive attitude to support company policies.
- Flexibility with new ideas and different environments.
- Motivational and supervisory skills in large group.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Ability to deal with stress and emergency situations.

- Highly motivated and high energy level.
- Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.
Education and Experience: - B.S. in Engineering and/or 6 or more years experience in mass-production manufacturing.
- Supervisory experience for 3 years or more preferred.

- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
- Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
