What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Define and implement the Scout Product Safety & Integrity Committee (PSIC), describing the rules of procedure in consideration of VW Group Guidelines.
- Lead the Scout PSIC, preparing and conducting the meetings and preliminary clarifications needed (e.g. RCA, risk assessment. etc.) to ensure the timely implementation of the measures and tasks agreed by the committee.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding safety, conformity, and emissions of Scout products on the market.
- Monitor the implementation of the measures and tasks decided by the Scout PSIC.
- Align Scout's product safety and conformity decisions within VW Group.
- In collaboration with Legal and Regulatory Affairs, support the communication and reporting activities with Authorities, Agencies and external 3rd Parties regarding product safety and conformity (e.g. NHTSA EWR - Early Warning Reporting).
- In collaboration with After Sales, support the preparation of field campaigns and recalls (e.g. technical repair instructions, software availability, etc.).
- Report regularly to Scout Management Board on the PSIC's activities and decisions, as well as on the escalation of issues, if needed.
- Ensure proper documentation of issues discussed, decisions made, and tasks agreed by the PSIC, as well as lessons learned to be frontloaded into future projects.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- 7+ years of experience in automotive engineering and/or quality management of which 5 years in charge of product safety/conformity related functions; OEM experience is a must.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial / Mechanical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proven experience in the implementation of product safety/conformity processes and committees in automotive OEMs.
- Experience in alignment activities related to product safety/conformity at OEM level.
- Managerial skills: ability and proven experience (3+ years) growing and leading a team (with direct reports).
- Sound knowledge of production processes (OEM and suppliers) and statistical methods to understand process stability from a quality perspective.
- High ability to understand technical complex problems and critically make questions about the consistency of action plans, with strong focus on lessons learned.
- Excellent capacity on decision making in complex situations, understanding and considering the financial, legal and brand image consequences of those decisions.
- Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and writing - across hierarchy and functional levels (i.e. Vice President and Board Level).
- German skills preferred, as some of the information for the above-mentioned alignment activities with Group Headquarters will be available in German.

Pay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial Base Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
