Responsibilities

  • Oversee configuration, deployment, data management, security, and user access for Oracle EPBCS.
  • Establish governance and operational processes for system adoption and compliance across the organization.

  • Drive continuous improvement of planning and reporting tools in partnership with finance teams.
  • Define data, technology, and reporting requirements with Analytics and Finance teams.
  • Develop financial models, analyses, and dashboards that provide actionable business insights.
  • Collaborate to understand operational processes and translate metrics into financial insights.
  • Assess risks and opportunities, making data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $95,000.00 - $158,400.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 15% or $, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

The Manager, Process Optimization uses data-driven, fact-based analysis to deliver process improvement results and achieve project objectives that improve cost, customer satisfaction, and functional value. The role is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness and financial return of core processes, technology, and performance analytics supporting Oracle and other financial reporting and planning systems. The position governs and continuously improves the finance technology ecosystem while establishing a disciplined framework for measuring program impact and return on investment. This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week onsite at the Lake Forest, IL headquarters with flexibility to work one day from our Chicago, IL Merchandise Mart location.

You Will
  • Serve as the primary business owner of the Enterprise Portfolio Management (EPM) Planning platform (Oracle EPBCS), overseeing configuration, deployment, data management, security, and user access in partnership with Grainger Technology Group.
  • Establish and maintain system governance, operational processes, training resources, and user documentation to drive adoption, compliance, and consistent practices across the organization.
  • Coordinate system readiness and support planning and forecasting activities across workforce, capital, project, and financial planning modules within Oracle.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, and enhancement of planning, reporting, and forecasting tools in collaboration with global finance and accounting teams.
  • Partner with Analytics, Automation, Finance, and Accounting teams to define data, technology, and reporting requirements that support business objectives.
  • Develop financial models, analyses, dashboards, and reporting solutions that provide actionable insights, key performance indicators (KPIs), and return on investment (ROI) measures for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate across the finance organization to understand upstream and downstream operational processes, evaluate business impacts, and translate operational metrics into meaningful financial and business insights.
  • Assess risks and opportunities, develop recommendations, and influence business decisions through data-driven analysis and presentations to senior leadership.

You Have
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems required.
  • 5+ years relevant experience required.
  • Experience leading and developing planning teams by setting expectations, providing feedback, and maintaining a collaborative structure.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Experience building relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors while negotiating terms and addressing contractual risks.
  • Experience implementing Oracle technologies, creating formats to enhance experience, and managing logistics during system implementation and continuous improvement project after go-live.
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure program performance, guiding future planning, and presenting proposals and post-program analyses to senior leadership.
