Full Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Pro Merchandising, the Manager, Pro Merchandising plays a key role in the development, execution, and optimization of merchandising strategies designed to support Professional customers. This individual serves as a Pro segment expert and works closely with Category Management, Merchandising, Negotiation, and business partners to ensure assortments, supplier programs, and commercial initiatives are aligned with the needs of Professional customers.

The incumbent contributes to the execution of the Pro merchandising vision by coordinating key initiatives, monitoring business performance, and collaborating closely with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and the Dealer network across all regions.

Key Responsibilities :

Pro Merchandising Strategy Execution

  • Participate in the definition and the implementation of the Pro merchandising strategy across all banners and product categories.


  • Act as a subject-matter expert on the Pro segment, ensuring Professional customer needs are incorporated into merchandising and category decisions.


  • Contribute to the evolution of the Pro merchandising operating model, including strategic assortments, supplier programs, pricing initiatives, and field feedback mechanisms.


  • Translate Professional customer needs, market trends, and operational realities into actionable recommendations and business plans.


  • Partner with stakeholders supporting various Pro markets (contractors, affiliates, industrial, commercial and institutional) to ensure alignment on priorities and initiatives.


  • Participate in the development and deployment of programs and projects aimed at driving growth and performance within the Pro segment.


Supplier Management and Commercial Support

  • Collaborate with Category Management and Negotiation teams to support supplier strategies and initiatives impacting the Pro business.


  • Ensure Pro-specific commercial requirements are integrated into supplier programs and agreements.


  • Monitor supplier performance related to assortments, product availability, and service levels for Professional customers.


  • Participate in business reviews with strategic suppliers and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


  • Support the development of differentiated offers and value-added programs that enhance the Pro customer value proposition.


Financial and Commercial Accountability

  • Monitor key Pro performance indicators, including sales, profitability, margins, supplier funding, and assortment productivity.


  • Analyze business results and identify opportunities for growth, optimization, and continuous improvement.


  • Develop data-driven recommendations to support business objectives and strategic priorities.


  • Contribute to the evaluation and prioritization of initiatives that drive growth and profitability within the Pro segment.


Cross- Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a business partner to Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Dealer teams on Pro merchandising initiatives.


  • Ensure alignment between merchandising priorities and field execution.


  • Support the resolution of operational issues affecting Pro business performance.


  • Foster communication and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders to promote best practices and successful execution.


Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the Pro Merchandising team.


  • Establish clear objectives, monitor performance, and support employee development.


  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused work environment.


  • Support change management efforts and drive adoption of strategic initiatives within the team.


Your Profile

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.


  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in Merchandising, Category Management, Negotiation, or a related commercial function, preferably within the retail or home improvement industry.


  • Strong understanding of Professional customer and contractor market dynamics.


  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.


  • Strong analytical, commercial, and financial acumen.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and advance initiatives in a complex, fast-paced environment.


  • Experience leading teams or providing functional leadership.


  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.


  • Strong customer, results, and continuous improvement orientation.


  • Bilingualism (English and French), both spoken and written, is required. ( Frequent communications with internal/external partners and/or clients/employees outside of Québec)
