Job Summary

The Midstream Gas Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of BKV's natural gas processing facilities while also providing leadership and execution support for special projects across BKV's midstream assets. Reporting to the Midstream leader, this position provides overall leadership and direction for gas plant operations and is accountable for safety, environmental compliance, operational performance, equipment reliability, cost management, and workforce development.

In addition to gas plant responsibilities, this position leads and coordinates Midstream Special Projects that may include pipeline infrastructure, gathering systems, compression facilities, measurement facilities, interconnects, facility construction and modifications, integrity and reliability initiatives, and other projects supporting BKV's midstream operations. These projects may be independent of gas plant operations and require coordination across multiple disciplines, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

The Midstream Gas Plant Manager demonstrates strong operational and technical knowledge, project execution capabilities, sound business judgment, and effective leadership. This individual establishes priorities, develops personnel, coordinates resources, manages multiple operational and project demands, and drives continuous improvement and demonstrates integrity, accountability, and transparency while upholding BKV standards, values, and culture.

Responsibilities

Gas Plant Operations
  • Lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of natural gas processing facilities, establishing clear expectations for safety, performance, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Manage and develop plant operations team through coaching, training, performance management, and technical development.
  • Monitor and optimize plant performance, including throughput, product quality, equipment reliability, efficiency, downtime, and operating costs.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Measurement, Commercial, Upstream Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues and optimize facility performance.
  • Provide leadership during equipment failures, process upsets, shutdowns, startups, and emergency situations.
  • Ensure operating procedures, inspections, maintenance activities, and applicable environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements are effectively executed.
  • Support operating budgets, forecasting, capital planning, contractor management, and short- and long-term operational strategies in coordination with Midstream leadership.

Midstream Special Projects
  • Lead and coordinate assigned special projects across BKV's midstream assets, including pipelines, gathering systems, compression, measurement, interconnects, facility construction, and other infrastructure.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, resource requirements, and execution plans in coordination with Midstream leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Operations, Construction, Maintenance, EHS, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout project planning and execution.
  • Provide operational and field input during project design and participate in constructability reviews, MOC, PHA/HAZOP, and other applicable project assurance processes.
  • Oversee field execution and support permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handoff as applicable.
  • Monitor project cost, schedule, risk, quality, and performance; communicate status and resolve issues that could impact successful execution.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the safety, reliability, capacity, efficiency, and overall performance of BKV's midstream assets.

Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of natural gas processing and midstream operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of natural gas processing equipment and systems, including separation, compression, dehydration, treating, liquids handling, measurement, and associated equipment.
  • Working knowledge of pipelines, gathering systems, compression facilities, measurement systems, interconnects, and associated midstream infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop, coach, and lead high-performing operations teams.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading midstream construction, maintenance, infrastructure, operational, or capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of operational safety, process safety, environmental requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day operational responsibilities while simultaneously planning and executing multiple special projects.
  • Strong project planning, organization, prioritization, and execution capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, construction drawings, equipment specifications, operating data, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with operating budgets, project costs, forecasting, and capital planning.

Education & Experience

Required
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of water transfer, SWD, production operations, or related industrial experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Commensurate work experience considered.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business, construction management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant natural gas processing, midstream, plant operations, or related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership experience in natural gas processing or midstream operations required.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing gas plant operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading or coordinating midstream construction, infrastructure, facility, commissioning, startup, or other special projects preferred.

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Applicable operations, safety, technical, or project management certifications preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Location
  • Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin - position requires regular presence at natural gas processing facilities and other midstream field locations.

Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and non-scheduled callouts.
  • Must be available to respond to operational emergencies, plant upsets, shutdowns, project activities and non-scheduled callouts.
  • Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items over 20lbs.

• Physical Demands
  • Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
  • Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Frequent travel between gas plants, field facilities, project locations, and other BKV assets may be required.
