Physical Therapy Manager

Location: Broomall, PA

Organization: Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder

Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Manager is responsible for providing leadership, managerial supervision, and resource support to improve the effectiveness of the physical therapy department. Basic functions include assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, and managing physical therapy services through supervision of clinic teams and proactively developing solutions to positively impact quality patient care and operational efficiency. Utilizing principles of continuous quality improvement, this position provides leadership to improve processes and outcomes in the Financial, Growth, People, Service, and Quality Pillars. Additionally, the Manager functions as a practicing Physical Therapist. This is a full-time position with standard clinic hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and enforce written policies and procedures for all processes in the physical therapy department
  • Develop short- and long-term work plans and objectives for all rehabilitation services
  • Collaborate with physicians and administration to achieve departmental service goals
  • Oversee purchasing and supply management for the clinic
  • Ensure employee and patient rights are upheld
  • Utilize all aspects of the clinic's software system effectively
  • Assist with selection, training, orientation, and supervision of personnel
  • Lead by example and adhere to AEIOU behavioral standards and management expectations
  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements and conduct scheduled team/clinic meetings
  • Conduct performance management reviews in a timely manner
  • Actively participate in patient assessment and treatment as a Physical Therapist
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy required


Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current state PT license required
  • PT certification required
  • CPR certification required

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in physical therap
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles and clinical applications
  • Understanding of business and supervisory concepts, including total quality management (TQM)
  • Experience in patient assessment and treatment
  • Experience managing budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and quality audits
  • Strong communication skills and ability to establish effective relationships with patients, staff, and administrators
  • Ability to educate patients, employees, and staff in physical therapy theory and applications
  • Proven ability to operate a cost-effective department and control costs appropriately
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic
