Manager, Parking
What You'll Do
Lead Parking Operations
Direct the day-to-day operation and support of parking technology systems, access control platforms, transportation management tools, and related hardware and software.
Ensure parking systems operate efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Collaborate with University and Health System leaders to develop long-range strategic plans and operational initiatives.
Identify and implement technology enhancements and process improvements that strengthen service delivery and operational performance.
Support enterprise-wide initiatives through thoughtful planning, prioritization, and execution.
Manage Systems Integration & Technology
Serve as a subject matter expert for parking and transportation technology systems.
Ensure effective integration between parking platforms and enterprise systems, including SAP, Workday, Duke Card, access control systems, payroll deduction modules, and student information systems.
Partner with IT teams and stakeholders to support system enhancements, upgrades, and optimization efforts.
Build Strong Partnerships
Serve as the primary liaison between Parking Services, DUHS leadership, Support Services, IT teams, clinics, and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Communications teams to develop and deliver clear, consistent messaging related to parking programs, policies, and system updates.
Foster productive relationships with internal departments and external partners.
Oversee Vendor & Contract Management
Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
Review, negotiate, and monitor service agreements, maintenance contracts, software licenses, and performance expectations.
Ensure vendor performance aligns with organizational goals and service standards.
Leverage Data & Analytics
Utilize data and reporting tools to analyze parking utilization, occupancy trends, customer demand, and enforcement metrics.
Provide leadership with actionable insights that support operational improvements and future planning.
Monitor emerging industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.
Lead and Develop Teams
Recruit, hire, develop, coach, and evaluate departmental staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires a Bachelor's degree.
Experience
Requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant or comparable professional experience in this field. Prefer direct medical or university experience in the parking/operations field. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service and operating a complex parking organization. Demonstrated ability to oversee a busy parking operation, provide and analyze reports, oversight, and proposals useful for decision-making; project management completion in a timely manner; strategic planning for future growth; supervising personnel (including contract employees) and managing organizational resources and time management in an effective and efficient manner.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,766.00 to USD $97,798.00.
