Role Description:
The Manager, Operations, Advanced Therapy Division (NORAM) is a full-time role. This role oversees day-to-day operational performance for advanced therapy logistics across North America, ensuring service quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to customer and patient commitments.
Role Responsibilities:
- Leading and coaching operations teams
- Managing the daily business including packaging, cryogenic fulfilment, warehousing, optimizing processes, managing capacity and resources
- Coordinating with global counterparts to maintain a seamless end-to-end supply chain
- Monitors operational metrics, identifies risk areas, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures budgets and cost controls are aligned with business goals
- Serves as a senior point of contact for key clients, collaborating with commercial and quality teams to resolve issues, improve customer experience, and support strategic growth initiatives in advanced therapies.
Qualifications:
- Strong operations management experience, including end-to-end process oversight and continuous improvement.
- Oversight of cryogenic, ultra-low temperature, frozen, cold, and controlled ambient packaging operations, warehousing operations including space allocation and inventory management, and people and resource management
- Supply chain road map planning including advanced analytical skills to interpret data, track performance indicators, make evidence-based decisions and solve problems to assess and delivery feasibility.
- Proven team leadership/management capabilities in leading cross-functional teams, building engagement, and developing talent. High functioning interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated budgeting and financial management skills, including cost control and resource planning.
- Customer service orientation with a record of solving key operational hurdles, enhancing client satisfaction, and "outside-the-box" lateral and solution-oriented thinking
- Experience in healthcare logistics, pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical trial operations is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of (and experience in) air and ground freight operations management, including lane risk assessments, route planning, commercial cargo (healthcare focused), with strong relationships in the air cargo and ground transportation fields are a plus.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep experience in clinical, healthcare, or biomanufacturing settings, with specific experience in advanced therapy (e.g. biomanufacturing) and/or healthcare logistics
- Advanced experience in operations management, cold chain management, or a related field are a must, with preference given to those with a background in critical healthcare supply chain management; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, MSc, MBA, Ph.D.) are a plus.
- Understanding of the criticality of advanced therapy and precision logistics for cell and gene therapy, radiopharmaceuticals/nuclear medicine, human donation science are imperative.
- Strong communicator, with ability to represent at tradeshows, key client facing meetings and at Marken corporate reviews and bid defense preparation/presentations.
