As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Connected Commerce Tech - Ultimate Rewards team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. 

Job responsibilities
  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, collaboration and mentors engineers and partner with application teams to drive best practices across reliability, performance, risk, cybersecurity, and legal/compliance requirements
  • Work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environment—one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally
  • Leads team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes, while setting expectations for human validation, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and consistent use of reusable patterns across teams
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation and support capacity unlock initiatives.
  • Develops using Test Driven Development and is familiar with working in a Continual Integration environment on a shared code base. 
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Applies technical experience will allow you to take the lead on feature design and development, as well as allowing you to identify new features and help form the strategy and direction of the program.
  • Prototype and deliver AI-enabled/agentic workflows (e.g., tool-using agents, orchestration patterns, evaluation and guardrails) and translate stakeholder needs into technical designs
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience 
  • Experience managing technologyist and leading technology projects
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) (e.g. UI technology stack - React JS, CSS/HTML, JAVA, Spring Framework, AWS Cloud only, etc.)
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical AWS experience (e.g., proficiency with AWS services - EKS, ECS, PostgreSQL, Lambda, S3, etc.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining ways of working (review/validation expectations), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of data.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations with ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
