Manager of Examinations - Banks & Credit Unions
Starting Salary Range: $101,504 - $115,000
The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks a talented and motivated leader to serve as Manager of Examinations in the Bureau of Financial Institutions (Bureau). The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring the condition and performance of an assigned set of state-chartered institutions (banks and credit unions), to include: reviewing examination reports, quarterly reports, CPA audits, correspondence, and news media; recommending and drafting appropriate regulatory action and correspondence; and evaluating the adequacy of responses to Bureau examination reports and administrative actions. The Manager of Examinations leads, directs, guides, coaches, and motivates team members within the section. Providing regular feedback, making recommendations regarding team member training goals and performance development, providing input into the scheduling process, and appraising the performance of team members are other leadership responsibilities of this position. The Manager of Examinations will also research and respond to technical inquiries from the industry; and occasionally participate as a team member on examination teams. Making recommendations for improvements and enhancements to established systems and methods, as well as attending conferences, meetings, and events on behalf of Bureau senior leadership are additional responsibilities of the incumbent in this role. This role offers flexible telework options.
