DescriptionThe UCLA Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences is one of the nation's premier academic psychiatry departments, supporting excellence in patient care, research, education, and community engagement. We are seeking an experienced Academic HR Manager to lead the departments' Academic Personnel function and provide strategic guidance on faculty affairs across a large and complex academic environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and oversee all academic personnel operations, including faculty recruitment, appointments, promotions, merits, leaves, and academic reviews
- Supervise and develop Academic Personnel staff while ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery
- Serve as the department's primary advisor on Academic Personel policies and faculty affairs
- Provide consultation to department leadership, faculty, and administrators on complex personnel matters
- Ensure compliance with University of California and David Geffen School of Medicine policies and procedures
- Partner with Finance, Research Administrators, Payroll, and central administrative offices to support departmental goals and initiatives
- Drive process improvements and operational excellence within Academic Personnel operations
Salary range: $108,900/yr - $241,500/yr
