This role will be a key member of Suntory Global Spirits North America Commercial Finance team focusing on risk management and compliance policy development and implementation. This will be a highly visible role that will interact with both regional leadership and work cross functionally with Global Compliance, Human Resources, Legal, Regional Sales, Global Business Services and Marketing teams to manage business risk and ensure that team activities are consistent with company policy. We are seeking a candidate that can be solution oriented, drive the compliance agenda and who will be become a sought-out resource across the organization. Periodic travel domestically may be required.
Role Responsibilities- Work closely with the regional Controller to plan and oversee the North America Region compliance agenda
- Oversee the effective development and implementation of policies, procedures and controls across the business
- Develop local addendums, ensuring that global policies are tailored for local business practices and customs
- Establish an effective control environment to ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations through control monitoring, data analysis, post audits and direct interaction with team members
- Plan and deliver recurring compliance training programs to the North America commercial organization
- Administer the North America Risk and Control matrix, partnering cross functionally with owners to ensure controls are documented and performed
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability; analyze data to develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on relevant topics
- Drive the Enterprise Risk Management process, including an annual review of risk dynamics across the region
- Work with Global Business Services and local finance teams within the region to drive best practices and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
- Attend and present to the Regional Compliance Committee. Provide compliance updates and ensure alignment on key decisions
- Conduct annual Segregation of Duties assessment
Qualifications- Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration preferred
- Internal audit or previous compliance experience for a multi-national business a plus
- MBA/CPA a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience within consumer products in one of the following: Spirits, Beer, Wine, Beverage, and Food categories, is preferred.
- Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data for key insights
- Strong analytical/excel and computer skills
Salary Range - The salary range for this role, based in Chicago is $100,000 to $120,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate's location, experience, and skillset.
